Dance with Death
Danse macabre, Op. 40 was written by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. The story of the music is about death waking up from the grave and having a dance on Halloween night. The original Danse macabre is a metaphor of the universality of death in the Late Middle Ages: no matter one's station in life, the Danse Macabre unites all. A reminder that no matter who you are or where you're from, death is inevitable, and worth being prepared for.
Danse macabre is one of my favorite classical pieces, and the first orchestra concert I ever performed in as a violinist. For this piece I choreographed and performed every movement myself, captured with Rokoko Studio and rigged onto the skeleton in Blender for the final production.

This short film is inspired by Danse macabre: when the bell rings, a busy finals night at the library turns into a Halloween revel.
